It's is highly likely that some Club Members, of more that 15 years standing, will remember Alec and Sylvia Wells. I have received the following email from Alec.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Alec, his family and friends.

Chris Dalrymple.

I am very sad to report that Sylvia Wells passed away on Boxing Day after 2 years fighting cancer. We were members but left in 2007 as the majority of our family live here in Swindon, and we were beginning to get old (67). Please could you inform the aged bowlers who may remember her. I told President Derick on the phone as I remembered his name and saw he was doing what I did for a year. I am sending the funeral details in case anyone wants to come.

Sylvia’s funeral will be Saturday 28th January at 12.00 pm –
Please let me know if you wish to attend as I need to know for catering and leaflets.

Presentation Night At The Old Beams, Ibsley

38 members turned out on Friday evening to savour the delights of the Prize Presentation and Social Night at, a new venue to the club, the Old Beams, Ibsley. It was a most pleasant evening, in great surroundings with wonderful ambience, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

A superb meal of either Sausage & Mash, Fish & Chips, Ham Egg & Chips or a Veggie Pasta dish was followed by Coffee.

Presentation of this years Trophies, by our President Anne Taylor and Competition Secretary Doug Jones, took place between the traditional entertainment of Quizes, Card Bingo, Higher or Lower and the Music Quiz. The entertainment drew to a close, at the end of the evening, with the traditional raffle.

You can view the gallery of Trophy recipients by clicking on the picture above.

As always, this event takes much planning and organisation and it is with great thanks to those mentioned below whose efforts made for a successful and enjoyable evening.

Debbie and Frank Senior for organising and running the event on the night.

A total of £140 was raised for the Club Well Done and Thank You, All.

It is with great sadness that I have to report that we have lost a well loved past member of our club.

Ted Huggins passed away peacefully this morning, Friday 14th October, with Maureen by his side in the Intensive Care Unit of the Great Western Hospital, Swindon, after having been admitted to hospital, sometime earlier.

Our deep condolences, thoughts and best wishes go out to Ted's wife Maureen, their family and friends.

Ted and Maureen joined Ringwood Bowling Club in 2017 and came back to Ringwood in 2020 after spending two years at Braeside. They moved to Marlborough at the end of the 2021 season. Whilst at Ringwood, Ted had a great impact playing for Ringwood in both the Bournemouth and New Forest leagues and competitions, Ringwood competitions and representative matches.

He will be sorely missed by our members and also those of Braeside Bowling Club. The following picture shows Ted after winning the 2021 B&DBA Triples with teammates Dan Cookman and Richard Thomas.

I will post details of funeral arrangements when known.
