I’m back from holiday now but on Wednesday morning, yours truly was entertained at Bideford Bowling Club by Ken Lange. We had a short game, of 45-Up, as he was busy mowing the green earlier in the day and had a match in the afternoon. We had a good game which stood at 30-30 after 10 ends but, unfortunately, 4 ends later I’d lost 47-37. The game was watched by another Bideford member, Paul Debnam who recognised my Ringwood shirt. I had a chat with him after the game. An ex-Argyll member, he moved to Bideford a few years ago and fondly remembers his encounters against Ringwood in years gone by. I reeled off many names of our Ringwood stalwarts of whom he remembered well. See you soon.

Here goes with the first one.
The Harry Wright Trophy got off to a good start last Monday. Good luck to all those taking part during the season.
There were good turnouts for both the Internal Friendly Matches, held on Saturday and the Open Day today.
Saturday was a bit cold, windy and slightly damp at times but was enjoyed by those who turned up.
There was a great turnout at todays Open Day. Although it was cloudy, happily the rain held off. Many thanks to all those who turned out to help introduce our visitors to the game of bowls. Hopefully we will gain some new members this year from todays activities.
Spotted on the Green before todays Open Day. Click on the picture to view full images.
