At The Aviva National Championships - Royal Leamington Spa
 
Sadly on Wednesday morning, Steve Hill lost his National Men’s 2W Singles 1st Round match, against Kyle Anderson (Royal Wootton Bassett) at Royal Leamington Spa, 19 - 2.
 
On Thursday morning, Hampshire representatives Carol Broomfield & Janet Ballard (Waterside) won their Ladies' Over 60's Pairs match against Doreen Butcher & Kris Owen (Essex) 18 - 11.
In the afternoon Quarter Final however, they met their match against Val Davis & Liz Lock (Devon) losing by just 2 shots, 18 - 16.
 
This afternoon, Sooki, Steve Hill, John Sanderson and Lee Croad began their campaign in the National Men’s Senior Fours. They started with a great performance, in the 1st Round, defeating Grant Talman, Michael James, Martin Randell, Richard Gilbert (Hagbourne, Berkshire), 21 - 4 after 16 Ends.
Tomorrow, they play against Richard Spriggs, Barry Stone, David Dar, Nigel Smith (Essex County, Essex) at 9.15am. If successful, they will go on to play a Quarter Final match in the afternoon, starting at 12.45pm.

During the week on Wednesday and Friday Ringwood Bowling Club hosted the BH Ladies West Area Benevolent Two Bowl Triples Competition matches.
Margaret Everett's team (Pelhams) emerged as Winners and proceed to the Finals on Sunday 31st August, at Banister Park, tol play Bridget May's team (Banister Park), the South Area Winners, in the Semi Final at 10:00.
The winners of this will play in the Final at 14:00 against the winners of East versus North Hampshire.
A Special Big Thank You to all members who spent their time and energies, before, during and after the event, into making this a very successful time which, on the Wednesday, raised £136.

The Ringwood Bowling Club Competition Finals Day takes place next Sunday 24th August
In addition to this annual feast of Bowling, Ivan Griffin will again be demonstrating his Barbecuing skills, during the day, to satisfy your culinary delights.
So, come along and enjoy the days competition and socialising with other members in a convivial atmosphere to watch the action.

Ladies Singles: Helen Blackiston vs Sharon Varndell
Men's Singles: John Sanderson vs Steve Hill or Lee Croad
Two Wood Singles: Lee Croad vs Derrick Fulker or John Sanderson
45up Singles: Derrick Fulker vs Barry Vaughan (Barry not able to play on Finals Day)
Junior Singles: Denis Carr vs Eric Parry
Veteran's Singles: Mel Barrett vs Ed Melton or Derrick Fulker
Handicap Singles: Derrick Fulker vs Ed Melton or Chris Spry
Handicap Pairs: Derick Faulkner & Peter Smith vs Helen Blackiston & Malcolm Chater or John Sanderson Carole Pepperell
Two Wood Pairs: John Sanderson & Roger Clark vs Ed Melton & Lee Carter or Richard Thomas & Peter Smith
 
Unfortunately, Doug Jones has not, as yet, been able to produce a playing schedule for next Sunday because, as you can see from the above, six Semi Finals have yet to be decided.
For those involved, please play your Semi Final matches ASAP so that Doug can complete the Finals Day playing schedule

Tuesday 12th August. NFWBA Ladies Team Away versus Waterside 1. A fantastic performance against the League leaders, winning by 1 shot, means that the Ladies are only 2 points short of safety. Rinks 1 - 1. Shots 18 - 19. Points 2 - 4.

Tuesday 12th AugustNFBA Men's 1st Team Home & Away versus Lyndhurst . In the President's Trophy Quarter Final the 1st Team sadly lost by 7 shots despite the better Rinks tally of 2½ - 1½. 

Thursday 14th August. B&DWBA Ladies Team at Home versus Milford on Sea. The ladies bounced back this week with a fine maximum points win.Rinks 2 - 0. Shots 48 - 26. Points 6 - 0.

Thursday 14th August. NFBA Men's A Team Home & Away versus Totton & Eling. In the Ringwood ShieldQuarter Final the A Team didn't fair much better than the 1st Team and sadly lost by 3 shots.Rinks 2 - 2. Shots 50 - 53.

Saturday 16th August. B&DBA Morning Mixed B Team Away versus Argyll D. No match. Ringwood were unable to raise a teamRinks 2 - 0. Shots 10 - 0. Points 6 - 0.

Saturday 16th August. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team at Home versus Argyll. Despite only winning one rink it was a great, desperately needed, overall win for the 1st Team in a very close game. Rinks 1 - 2. Shots 51 - 49. Points 6 - 4.

Saturday 16th August. B&DBA Mixed A Team Away versus Blandford Blues. A tough game against the League leaders but the A Team came away with a well earned point. Rinks   - ½. Shots 47 - 41Points 9 - 1.
