 BH Senior Fours Champions 2025
The Bowls Hampshire Senior Fours Champions 2025
 
Congratulations and Well Done to Steve Hill, John Sanderson, Lee Croad and Sooki who are this year's Bowls Hampshire Senior Fours Champions.
Playing last Sunday, at Banister Park, they defeated Farnborough 21-17 in the morning Semi Final and in the afternoon Final, took the trophy defeating Sports Centre (Southhampton)12-10.
The team go on to play in the Bowls England 'Aviva' National Finals, at Leamington Spa, on Sunday 17th August.

The following day, Steve Hill returned to Banister Park to take on the best of Hampshire in the 2 Wood Singles. In the Quarter Final he defeated John Blair (Alton) 16-11. In the Semi Final he defeated Martin Smith (Waterside) 15-11. In the Final, he defeated Alan B Forrest (Fleming Park) by 3 shots to progress to play at the Bowls England 'Aviva' National Finals, at Leamington Spa, on Wednesday 13th August.

Also on Monday, Carol Broomfield and partner Janet Ballard got tickets to Ryde to play Leen Hampshire (Ryde Marina, Isle of Wight) in the Bowls England Women's Over 60' Pairs, Hampshire (Mid/West) / Isle of Wight Area Final.
They won the match 19-6 and go on to play Brenda Grout (Hook, Hampshire) in the All-England Round of 32 at Andover on Friday 25th July.

Today, Sharon Varndell, Carol Broomfield, Chris Pentelow and Helen Blackiston played their Bowls Hampshire Ladies Fours Quarter and Semi Finals at Banister Park. In the morning they won their Quarter Final match against the BH East Area 2 team. Sadly however,, they lost in the afternoon Semi Final by 3 shots.

 The 50/50 Club winner for Saturday 12th July is Mavis Hammond with number 7. Well done Mavis.

Tuesday 8th July. NFWBA Ladies Team Away versus Brockenhurst. With another fantastic maximum points win, the Ringwood Ladies rise up the table into 5th place. Rinks 0 - 2. Shots 25 - 29. Points 0 - 6. 

Tuesday 8th July. NFBA Men's 1st Team Away versus Highcliffe. The 1st Team drop down to 3rd place following this close, 2 shot loss, at Highcliffe. Rinks 2 - 2. Shots 66 - 64. Points 6 - 2. 

Thursday 10th July. B&DWBA Ladies Team No Match. 

Thursday 10th July. NFBA Men's A Team Away versus Totton & Eling A. Like the 1st team last week, the A Team were figuratively and literally on the carpet at Totton & Eling but managed to come away with half a point. Rinks 3½ - ½. Shots 93 - 60. Points 7.5 - 0.5. 

Saturday 12th July. B&DBA Morning Mixed B Team Away versus Knyveton Kestrels. Despite losing this very close match, the B Team jump up to 4th place in the League. Rinks 1 - 1. Shots 31 - 29. Points 4 - 2. 

Saturday 12th July. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team at Home versus Moordown. The 1st Team stay in 6th place following this fine win against bottom placed Moordown. Rinks 2 - 1. Shots 50 - 36. Points 8 - 2. 

Saturday 12th July. B&DBA Mixed A Team Away versus Argyll B. The A Team stay in 5th place following this fine win to open the gap between them and 6th placed Argyll B. Rinks 1 - 2. Shots 44 - 54. Points 2 - 8.
