The season got off to a wonderful start in terms of both bowls and weather.
On Saturday 26th April, Club Captain, Lee Croad's Roll Up Competition was well supported with 32 members, in teams of 4, playing 3 Matches of 7 Ends, with the winners being decided on Shots Difference.
After two matches Team 8, consisting Carol Pepperell, Stephen Read, Malcolm Chater & Allan Mason, looked to have an unassailable lead with a Shots Difference of +16. However, their last match didn't go so well and after the last matches were played, it was a tie between Team 8 and Team 7 consisting Margery Gardner, Chris Pentelow, Mel Barrett & John Sanderson, with both teams on Shots Difference of +9. The cash prizes were decided on total shots with £24 going to Team 7 and £16 to Team 8.
It was a great afternoon with thanks going to Lee for devising and running the event, the sponsors for donating the prizes, Paul for producing a wonderful green and all those who helped out on the day.
