Weekly Bulletin 30th June

The Bowls Equipment Shed key has now been returned and is back on it's hook in the clubhouse. Hopefully, it won't happen again. Apologies are due to Hillary Edge and Lee Croad who could not play their 2 Wood Singles match on Friday evening.

Debbie Perryman is a member of the Spanish International Bowls team who will be playing in the European Championships being played in September at Ayr, in Scotland, on grass. Debbie is staying with our Carol Brooomfield, who is the Assistant Manager to the Spanish International Bowls team, from July 4th to July 9th. Debbie has never played on grass before and needs get up to speed with practice on this surface. The Club's Management Committee has given Debbie permission to use our green for practice provided that a temporary membership form is completed and that she is accompanied by a fully paid up member at all times. Her practice times to be fitted around any arranged games using vacant rinks, dates and times. For this, Debbie will be invited to make a donation to the club.

If any member fancies practising with an International Player, to give Debbie some opposition and experience of match play on grass, please contact Carol Broomfield on 07511 981120 or email (go to Members Contact List for address) to arrange dates and times.

Lee Croad who won his Bowls Hampshire West Area 2 Men's 2 Wood Singles Final match and progresses to the Quarter Final against Chris Daniels (Boscombe Cliff) to be played at Banister Park on Monday 8th July. 6.00pm start. The winner of this match plays in the Semi Final on the same evening.
 
Unfortunately, Sue Hurley (Lymington) couldn't play Sharon Varndell on Monday and so, Sharon progresses to the Bowls Hampshire West Area Ladies 2 Wood Singles Quarter & Semi Finals at Banister Park on Monday 8th July. 6.00pm start.
 
Sharon Varndell and Dan Cookman have won through to play in the Bowls England Family Pairs Hampshire Area Final against Brent Riste (Portsmouth Water (Men), Hampshire (East/North).
 
Mark Brocklebank, Lee Croad and Tony Nixon have won through to play in the Bowls Hampshire West Area 2 Triples Final, against a Boscombe Cliff team, at Southbourne on Thursday 4th July at 6.00pm.
 
This weeks 50/50 Club winner is Helen Blackiston. Well done Helen.

Tuesday 25th June. NFWBA Ladies Team BYE. The Ladies drop down to second place but have a game in hand over leaders New Milton who have one point more than Ringwood.

Tuesday 25th June. NFBA Men's 1st Team Awayversus Highcliffe. This close encounter ended with the first loss of the season for the 1st Team. However, Ringwood stay top with a slender 1.5 point lead. Rinks 1½ - 2½. Shots 74 - 69. Points 5.5 - 2.5.

Thursday 27th June. B&DWBA Ladies Team at Home versus Moordown. Another fine performance from the Ladies and a maximum points win opens the gap between them and second place, Southbourne B, by 8 points. Rinks 2 - 0. Shots 36 - 26. Points 6 - 0.

Thursday 27th June. NFBA Men's A Team at Home versus Highcliffe A. The second Men's loss to a Highcliffe team in the same week.This result keeps the A team rooted to the bottom of the table.Rinks 1 - 3. Shots 61 - 74. Points 1 - 7.

Thursday 27th June. NFBA Men's B Team Away versus Highcliffe C. Ringwood could not field a team for this match which unfortunately, meant that Ringwood could not achieve a victory against a Highcliffe team this week. Rinks 0 - 0. Shots 0 - 0. Points 4 - 0.

Saturday 29th June. B&DBA Mixed B Team Away versus Lyndhurst Lasers. Unfortunately, a team couldn't be assembled to play this match either.  Rinks 0 - 0. Shots 0 - 0. Points 6 - 0.

Saturday 29th June. B&DBA Mixed 1st Team Away versus Boscombe Cliff. A tough game versus the top team which finds the 1st Team in 4th place in the league table. Rinks 2 - 1. Shots 72 - 31. Points 8 - 2.

Saturday 29th June. B&DBA Mixed A Team at Home versus Bournemouth B. Despite a good performance and win, the A team drop to third place on equal points with Milford on Sea due to rinks difference. Rinks 1½ - 1½. Shots 52 - 48. Points 7 - 3.
